Community Pass Program

Check Out a Madison BCycle with Your
VALID Madison Library Card.

In partnership with the Madison Public Library Foundation, the Madison BCycle Community Pass Program is an effort to make BCycle more accessible to all.

To get started, check out the pass from any Madison Public Library location, just like checking out a book. The passes can be checked out for up to a week at a time and provide access to all of Madison BCycle's electric bikes and stations in and around Madison. Users may choose to check out helmets as well.

The Community Pass Program is one way we can ensure people who rely on alternative transportation have a lower-cost option, thanks to our partnership with the Madison Public Library Foundation."

No smartphone or credit card necessary!

How To Start a Ride:

1. Check out a Madison BCycle from any Madison Public Library location.
2. Start here to enter your information and sign the Madison BCycle Users Agreement
3. Once completed PLEASE ALLOW 48 HOURS FOR BCYCLE TO ACTIVATE YOUR FOB.
4. BCycle will email you confirmation of activation.
5. Locate stations on the website or BCycle app.
6. (INSERT INSTRUCTIONS)
7.Begin your ride and wear a helmet!

Ending a Ride:

1. Return bike to a BCycle station. Firmly push bike into an available dock until you hear 3 beeps!
2. Bikes must be secured at all times when not riding. Bikes are not allowed to be kept at residence or unattended. Bikes are maintained and batteries replaced in between rides to ensure a positive experience!

All nine Madison Public Library locations have four Community Passes available for checkout. Download the BCycle app for a map of our stations. We currently have stations outside of Central Library on West Mifflin Street and outside of Pinney Library on Cottage Grove Road!
