On Thursday, June 11, Madison BCycle installed our newest station as a part of our expansion down the East Washington Corridor.
South Livingston Garage, located just a block from Gebhardt, Galaxie and Constellation buildings, will be a connecting point for those commuting into Madison. The station will also serve nicely as a meeting spot for those attending events, dining, or relaxing around the area.
“One of our main goals for new stations was to have them in locations that are a mix of where people live, work, and relax," said Operations Manager Erik Elmer. "There's been so many new apartments and businesses coming to East Wash in recent years that it was just a matter of finding the right spot."
Along with the new station, Madison BCycle is reinstalling the MLK & Main station that was removed due to construction. The station will be back in its original position on the east side of MLK. Keep watch on social media for when the station is back in service in the coming week.
In another station update, the team extended the station at Memorial Union by four docks. This addition to an already popular station will create room for more e-bikes and space to park them throughout the summer, as well as when students are back on campus.
“We want to extend a big ‘Thank You’ to the city for helping us make room for this station extension,” said Elmer. “Summer is a great time to ride along the Lake Shore Path. Making it easier to find docks and e-bikes for those out enjoying our BCycle season is really our biggest focus this time of year.”
