  • Attention BCycle Members: Renew your membership like a champ

by Martha Laugen | Jun 22,2016

Are you getting ready for another year of BCycle? Read on for a few quick tips to get you on your way quickly. (Hint: Read all the way through for a great deal at the end!)

    1. Know Thyself:
Log into your BCycle member profile frequently using your username and password. You will LOVE all the ride stats you can see for your BCycle trips! Forgot your login? There are helpful hints at at the login site.

    2. Update & Renew with ease:
Last September we upgraded our credit card processing equipment, so all members needed to update their Credit Card on file. If you did not do this last September, you must do so BEFORE the system will allow you to renew your current membership. Here’s how it’s done…

    3.  Try something new!
Our Madtown Monthly membership gives riders 60-min trip times instead of the usual 30-minutes, for just $15/month. With auto-renewal, you can set it and forget it, or suspend your membership if you’re out of town or just not bike sharing much. Check it out here if you want to try something new for a change!

    4.  Spend some time, save some bucks.
For reading this little tutorial and renewing your current membership BEFORE SEPTEMBER 15, 2016, we’ll give you $15 off an annual membership. Just enter the code RENEWCC16 when prompted in the renewal process. This is for annual membership renewals only, and expires on September 15, 2016.

    Thanks for riding!

  • Madison BCycle Cheese Curd Crawl

by Martha Laugen | Jun 21,2016

June is National Dairy Month!! Best way to celebrate? A BCycle cheese curd crawl around town this weekend! Click here for a stop-by-stop map to guide you along your cheesy route.
Start at Union South's The Sett with their Garlic Cheese Curds. Grab a BCycle at our Union South Station.
Dock at the Hawthorne Ct & State Street station and head over to State Street Brats for their Wisconsin Cheese Curd Basket (a half pound of Wisconsin cheese nuggets served with veggies and 1000 island dressing)
Pick up your BCycle again and take the the SE Commuter Bike Path to the Capital City Trail and head over to Essen Haus for their Breaded Fresh Wisconsin Cheese curds served with marinara sauce.  Park your BCcycle at the John Nolan @ Law Park Station.
Grab a BCycle and head up towards the square to the station at E. Wilson and MLK and walk a short block and a half to The Tipsy Cow for their Classic Cheese Curds or mouth-watering Local Goat Cheese Churds.
From here, depending on how adventurous you are, take a walk across the street to Graze for some more local curds and keep walking in that direction for the Old Fashioned's curds, also locally sourced. (BCycle Manager Martha says, if you don’t get Tiger Sauce with your curds at Old Fashioned, you’re doing it wrong)
Pick up a bike at our station on the Square at Wisconsin and E. Mifflin and head over to the Edgewater’s Boathouse for what they claim to be the best curds in town! Park your BCycle right in front of the hotel at our Edgewater station!

After the eating at the Boathouse, sit back and enjoy the Lake Mendota View!

  • BIKE WEEK 2016

    by Gabi Caron-Schuler | Jun 14,2016
Bike Week 2016 is done and boy, was it a good one this year!

All of us here at Madison BCycle had a great time getting to know you when you came to say hello, checked in with us at the Clips Film Festival, grabbed some coffee at our commuter station near HotelRED, or scored a free membership for the entire summer!

We tried to document all the fun and excitement on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and most importantly, our new Snapchat, so to always keep you updated, involved, and for those of you who didn't come, inflict some major FOMO!

Heres a countdown of our favorite moments and pictures this week:

    5. MUFFIN MOUNTAIN - Our friends at HotelRED generously provided us with tons of yummy snacks throughout the week at our commuter station near Camp Randall. Although it was hard to pick a favorite treat, we had to give it to the delicious muffins; they were so yummy and so beautiful!

    4. COMMUTER PUPS - We are all huge dog lovers at BCycle so it was super exciting to see all of the awesome, and adorable, pups out on the bike path! Our puppy bffs this week were Gertrude, Milly, and Bella (not pictured)!

    3. #BCYCLEKIDDOS - If theres one thing we love more than people on bikes, its kids on bikes! Tons o' kids celebrated this week and scored some major muffins and stickers, which they seemed to be pretty impressed and excited by!

    2. BOTTOMLESS COFFEE - We are proud to say that we NEVER ran out of coffee!!! BCycle and HotelRED made sure to always have your backs by keeping that caffeine flowin!!!! If we seem a little excited about this, remember, the coffee was ENDLESS, so we may have had a little too much!
