(Madison, WI) - Starting September 10th, B-cycle, one of the nation’s leading providers of bike sharing systems, will add another city to their B-connected reciprocity initiative, empowering Madison B-cycle annual members traveling to Denver or Boulder to use their membership to check out bikes in either city just as they do in their home city. Denver and Boulder B-cycle annual members will have the same privileges when traveling to Madison, with visiting users paying the usage fee rates of the local program.
B-cycle launched the B-connected functionality as a pilot program betwen the Denver and Boulder systems in March of 2012. Member feedback during the pilot proved enthusiastic with the added benefit to existing and new annual memberships. B-cycle plans to continue to roll out B-connected to their various systems across the U.S., empowering users to experience cities by bike versus by car, even when traveling.
Annual memberships can be purchased online at the individual B-cycle city websites accessed through the national site at www.bcycle.com. Since the B-cycle program began in April 2010, B-cycle members have taken over 648,750 bike trips, traveling over 1,381,844 miles, saving more than 100,547 gallons of gas, burning some 41,455,125 calories to lose more than 11,844 pounds! B-cycle hopes to increase these numbers at an even higher rate as B-connected continues to span more of its systems.
